Manang Air helicopter crashes, 5 dead
KATHMANDU, July 11: A Manang Air helicopter that was heading to Kathmandu from Surke of Solukhumbu has crashed, it has been informed. Due to bad weather, the 9N-AMV helicopter of Manang Air, which took off from Surke at 10:10 am, lost contact within 5-7 minutes, according to the Nepal Air Service Operators Association.
A police team led by ASI Rijan Basnet has reached the crash site of the 9N-AMV helicopter of Manang Air. DIG of Koshi Province Rajeshnath Bastola informed that 5 bodies were found at the accident site.
According to the initial investigation, the helicopter is estimated to have crashed into a tree. The dead bodies of the victims were found in a burnt state. The condition of one other person on board is unknown.
