Manang Air Helicopter heading to Kathmandu crashes
KATHMANDU, July 11: A Manang Air helicopter that was heading to Kathmandu from Surke of Solukhumbu has crashed, it has been informed. Due to bad weather, the 9N-AMV helicopter of Manang Air, which took off from Surke at 10:10 am, lost contact within 5-7 minutes, according to the Nepal Air Service Operators Association.
It has been said that the helicopter met with an accident in Solukhumbu’s Lamjura area. Chairman of Solu Dudhkunda Municipality-2, Ngwang Thile Sherpa, confirmed the accident.
6 people including the pilot were aboard the helicopter. It has been confirmed that Captain CB Gurung and 5 Mexican travelers were in the helicopter. Among the passengers are Ferando Sifuentes, Rincon Ismail, Abrica Gonzalez, Olacio Gonzalez and Maria Jose Sifuentes.
