Melauli Bus Accident update: Number of passengers confirmed, injured yet to be identified

BAITADI, July 10: The total number of passengers caught in the bus accident in Baitadi Melauli has been confirmed to be 42. 41 people including the driver were injured and one person died at the spot.

The bus numbered Lu 2 Kha 2011 (Pawandut Travels) was caught in the accident as it was heading to Mahendranagar from Kulau, Pancheshwor.

According to the Baitadi District Police Office Inspector Yogesh Khatri, 28-year-old Umesh Bhandari from Pancheshwar Rural Municipality-6 Rantoli was confirmed to have died in the accident. 25 of the injured are in serious condition and 16 are in moderate condition.

Khatri said that all injured passengers have been sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment. The identities of injured passengers are yet to be revealed.
