Bus accident in Baitadi, 39 injured and 1 dead

BAITADI, July 10: One person has died in a bus accident at Baitadi. The accident took place at the Melauli-Pancheshwor road section in Swakhani of Melauli Municipality-7 on Monday afternoon.

The bus numbered Lu 2 Kha 2011 (Pawandut Travels) was caught in the accident as it was heading to Mahendranagar from Kulau, Pancheshwor, Patan Area Police Office Chief Inspector Kamal Prasad Chaudhary informed.

One person has died and more than 39 have been injured in the accident. The identity of the deceased is yet to be revealed.

The bus fell down approximately 400 metres from the road and was stuck in a tree. The number of passengers is yet to be confirmed according to the District Police Office Inspector Yogesh Khatri.

The 39 injured passengers were rescued and taken to Kesharpur Primary Health Centre for treatment. More details about the accident are yet to come according to Khatri.
