Lalita Niwas Case: Samarjang Company Chief Ghimire and Surveyor Aryal arrested

KATHMANDU, July 9: Two more people have been arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in the case of land misappropriation of government land located inside the ‘Lalita Niwas camp’ in Baluwatar. The arrested are Dhruba Prasad Aryal and Lokhari Ghimire.

The accused Aryal is the then Surveyor who was assigned to survey the land of Lalita Niwas from the Surveyor’s office in Kathmandu, and Ghimire, the head of the Samarjang Company.

Ramesh Kumar Pokharel, the then head of Samarjung Company which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dev Narayan Maharjan, the fake Mohi (farmer who works in other people’s land as own giving half of the production to the owner) of Pashupati Tikinchha Guthi, Shivaji Bhattarai, the then ward secretary, Ghaman Kumar Karki, an employee of the surveyor's office, and Baburaja Maharjan, another fake Mohi, were arrested earlier.

Similarly, former Election Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah was also arrested.
