Seven parties to appoint Uddhav Thapa as CM, Prachanda need not resign

KATHMANDU, July 6: The seven ruling parties held a discussion on whether to resign Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda from his post regarding his expression on Thursday. 

During the meeting held on Thursday at Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, the seven parties came to the conclusion not to resign Prime Minister Prachanda from his position according to Maoist Centre Leader Hitraj Pandey.

CPN Unified Socialists Deputy Chairman Rajendra Paudel informed that the seven ruling parties have also decided to appoint Uddhav Thapa as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province.

The coalition of Koshi province has 47 seats including Congress (29), Maoist Centre (13, including the Speaker), Unified Socialists (4) and JSP (1).
