Gang leader Samirman Singh Basnet sentenced to life

KATHMANDU, July 5: Gang leader Samirman Singh Basnet has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the single bench of Justice Keshab Prasad Ghimire of the Kathmandu District Court. Basnet was sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly being the main mastermind of a murder.

According to a source from the District Court, Ambar Bahadur Rana aliased "Kale" was also sentenced to life imprisonment alongside Basnet.

Som Tamang aliased Lopsang Lama was sentenced to 15 years of prison for opening fire to murder the victim.

Similarly, Samirman Singh Basnet's wife Maya Sherchan was also sentenced to 10 years and fined Rs 60 thousand according to the source.
