Lalita Niwas case: Writ of habeas corpus of Min Bahadur and other two will not be heard today

KATHMANDU, July 4: The writ petition of Min Bahadur Gurung, Sudhir Kumar Shah and Dharma Prasad Gautam in the Lalita Niwas case which was scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court on Tuesday cannot be heard due to a lack of time. They are currently in the custody of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Police.

The joint bench of Justices Dr. Anandamohan Bhattarai and Hari Prasad Phuyal postponed the hearing for the next day saying there was not enough time today.

A show-cause order had been issued during the hearing in the single bench of Justice Dr. Kumar Chudal last Friday. The bench had also ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit a written reply within 24 hours as to why the order of habeas corpus should not be issued as per the demand of the petitioner.
