Police petition to vacate against Supreme Court's order

KATHMANDU, July 4: The police have filed a petition to vacate against the Supreme Court's decision not to arrest the 17 people involved in the Lalita Niwas case.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) AIG Kiran Bajracharya told Ratopati that they have filed a 'vacate' petition in the Supreme Court against the interim order.

CIB's petition was registered by the Supreme Court on Monday. A year ago on July 4th, Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada had given an interim order not to arrest the 17 people involved in the Lalita Niwas case.

Arrestees including former Commissioner of the Dillibazar Land Revenue Office Kaladhar Deuja, Officer Surendraman Kapali and Hupendramani KC were released after showing the interim order from the Supreme Court.
