Lalita Niwas case: Minbahadur's writ of habeas corpus to Bhattarai and Phuyal's joint bench
KATHMANDU, July 4: The writ petition of Min Bahadur Gurung, Sudhir Kumar Shah and others in the Lalita Niwas case has been scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. They are currently in the custody of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Police.
Gurung and others had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court claiming that they were arrested for an expired case. The writ petition will be heard in the joint bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Hari Prasad Phyal on Tuesday.
A show-cause order had been issued during the hearing in the single bench of Justice Dr. Kumar Chudal last Friday. The bench had also ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit a written reply within 24 hours as to why the order of habeas corpus should not be issued as per the demand of the petitioner.
