Election Commission's Integrated Law Draft: Person can't be elected as proportional Member of Parliament 3 times
KATHMANDU, July 3: The Election Commission has passed the draft of the Unified Election Law. Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Paudel informed that the commission decided to send the draft of the election law to the government during the meeting held on Monday.
According to the draft, a person who has become a proportional member of Parliament twice in the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly cannot be a candidate for proportional election for the third time.
Spokesman Paudel informed that the draft of the bill, which was created to amend and unify the electoral law, stated that a person who has been a member of parliament twice through the proportional election system cannot be a candidate again in the proportional election system.
