Arrest warrant issued against Former Chief Commissioner of CIAA Deep Basnyat

KATHMANDU, June 30: An arrest warrant has been issued against the Former Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Deep Basnyat in the Lalita Niwas Case. District Court Kathmandu gave the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) permission to arrest Basnyat who has been absconding.
It is alleged that Basnyat, in collaboration with the land mafia, forged government documents to take the government land of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar in the name of individuals.
An arrest warrant has been issued against 406 people in the Case. 17 people among them have taken a ‘Stay Order’ from the Supreme Court.
