Budget for upcoming fiscal year passed by HoR

KATHMANDU, June 28: The budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/081 presented by the government has been passed by the House of Representatives. The budget was passed by the meeting of the House of Representatives through the division of votes on Wednesday.

147 MPs voted in favor of the budget, while 108 were against it, out of the 255 MPs present in the voting. Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center, CPN Unified Socialist, Janata Samajbadi Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party voted in favor, while CPN UML, Rashtriya Swatantra Party, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Workers Peasants Party and Janamat Party voted against the budget.

On May 29, the government presented a budget of 1 trillion 751 billion 310 million for the upcoming fiscal year at the parliament.
