Lalita Niwas Case: Court permits to put four including Min Bahadur Gurung in custody

KATHMANDU, June 28: District Court Kathmandu has given permission to put the four accused including the operator of the Bhat Bhateni Supermarket in custody for 7 days. The Judge of the District Court Kathmandu, Basudev Paudel, gave permission to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) to investigate the case of forging government documents.

Seven people were arrested on Tuesday for the crime of embezzling the land of the Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar by forging government documents, out of which three people have been released after paperwork.

Surendra Man Kapali, who had already obtained a stay order from the court, Kaladhar Deuja, the then Chief of the Land Revenue Office Dillibazar, and Hupendra Mani KC, were released by the police with paperwork. The other arrested are former Commissioner Sudhir Shah, businessman Min Bahadur Gurung, the then Branch Officer Dharma Prasad Gautam, and a former employee of the land revenue office Gopal Karki.
