Saudi Embassy mandates Educational Certificate once again

KATHMANDU, June 27: The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Nepal has mandated an educational certificate for a visa. The embassy had already mandated educational certificates for visas to Nepali workers starting June 12, 2023, but withdrew the decision after protests from all sides.

Once again, the educational certificate has been demanded. Under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the rule to submit an educational certificate certified by the Department of Consular Services has been re-imposed.

General Secretary of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA), Meghnath Bhurtel, said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has once again made the certified educational certificates mandatory. The Ministry has not officially given any information, however.

Earlier, the embassy said that an educational certificate is mandatory for the visa required to go to Saudi Arabia. Educational certificate up to SEE/SLC was demanded. However, the decision was withdrawn on the last day after protests from all sides.
