Case against Mayor Balen unable to be heard today as well
KATHMANDU, June 26: The case against the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan Balendra (Balen) Shah will not be heard today as well.
The case scheduled for hearing by the single bench of Judge Prakash Kumar Dhungana was unable to be heard today.
Advocate Barsha Kumari Jha filed a writ petition regarding 'contempt of court' in the Supreme Court after Mayor Shah expressed that he would not accept the order of the court.
The hearing on the writ, which was registered on Friday, was scheduled on Sunday as well. The hearing which was scheduled on Sunday in the bench of Judge Dhungana was unable to be heard Sunday as well.
Balen had announced that Adipurush and any other Indian movie would not be allowed to run in Nepal until the dialogue of 'Daughter of India' included in the Bollywood film 'Adipurush' was removed from the movie.
Immediately after that, in a writ filed in the Patan High Court by the Film Association, the umbrella organization of the Hall owners, the court issued a short-term interim order, saying that the decision to ban the screening of Indian movies should not be implemented immediately.
