Holiday in Sudurpashchim Province today for mourning the death of Minister Singh

KATHMANDU, June 21: The Sudurpashchim Provincial government has decided to give a holiday on Wednesday, today for mourning the death of Internal Affairs and Law Minister Prithvi Bahadur Singh. Minister Singh died in an accident on Tuesday.

Today, the national flag of Nepal will be flown at half-mast in the government and public bodies of the Sudurpashchim Province. On the way to the home district of Bajhang, the minister’s vehicle, numbered 01001 Jha 480, had an accident near Dharchhada of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality of Bajhang.

The Minister’s wife Amrita Singh, and his sister-in-law Jayadevi Singh died at the local Deura Primary Health Center in Bajhang.

Minister Singh, who was seriously injured, was taken to Kohalpur via Nepal Army’s Helicopter. However, he died during treatment. The Sudurpashchim Government has organized a Condolence meeting for Minister Singh at 9 am today in the Covered Hall of Dhangadhi.
