School Staff Council Chairman and others released after 4 hours

KATHMANDU, June 15: School Staff Council Chairman Gangaram Tiwari and 4 others were released after being arrested for 4 hours.

The Police had arrested 5 people including Chairman Tiwari during a protest in Maitighar Mandala on Thursday. They were held in custody at the Police checkpoint in Singhadurbar.

Senior Vice Chairman Pradip Shrestha and Humla District Secretary Dhan Bahadur Mahat, Udaypur District Chairman Laxmi Karki and Sindhuli District Chairman Navraj Timilsina were arrested along with Chairman Tiwari.

Teachers and school employees have been protesting against the government for a long time for not addressing their demands in the budget speech.
