Metropolitan stops Education Fair for not following procedure

KATHMANDU, June 15: Kathmandu Metropolitan stopped the Education Fair organized by HISSAN at Bhrikutimandap on Thursday. According to the Metropolitan Police, the fair was stopped for not following the procedure.

HISSAN was instructed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to take permission from the local level. But the fair was stopped after they failed to take permission from the Kathmandu Metropolitan.

The government also restricted schools to take admissions before the results of grades 10 and 12. However, students were given receipts in advance during the fair and promised discounts for later admissions.

According to Mayor Balen Shah's Private Secretary Bhupadev Shah, the fair will restart once the procedures are completed. The fair will only be allowed to resume after taking permission from the Metropolitan, he informed.
