Debate on behalf of Balkrishna Khand begins on second day as well
KATHMANDU, June 14: The debate on behalf of the former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand is continuing in the fake Bhutanese refugee case. The lawyers from Khand’s side started the debate on Tuesday, which is continuing today as well.
On the first day, 10 lawyers debated on behalf of Khand, while on the second day today, senior advocate Raman Shrestha along with Khamma Khati, Gopikrishna Ghimire and Surendra Mahato are debating. As there were a lot of lawyers debating on behalf of Khand, it has taken two days.
Senior advocate Raman Shrestha started the debate first on Wednesday, today.
In the first three days, the government attorneys debated against the 18 defendants. And only 65 people have completed their debate out of the 110 lawyers to debate on behalf of the 18 defendants.
After the debate on behalf of all the defendants is completed, the government attorneys will debate again as a counter, after which, an order will be given on whether to let the defendants out on bail or keep them imprisoned.
