Fake Bhutanese Refugee Case: Debate extended
KATHMANDU, June 14: The preliminary hearing on the case of fake Bhutanese refugees has been prolonged. Justice Prem Prasad Neupane had given time till Tuesday to conclude the debate from the side of the 18 defendants in custody. But after 10 people advocated in favor of former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, the time has been extended.
In the first three days, the government attorneys debated against the 18 defendants. And only 65 people have completed their debate out of the 110 lawyers to debate on behalf of the 18 defendants.
Till now 12 defendants’ debate has ended, namely Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Tek Narayan Pandey, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Keshab Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Tanka Gurung, Sandesh Sharma, Sagar Rai, Indrajeet Rai, Ram Sharan K.C., Narendra K.C. and Govinda Chaudhary.
10 Advocates of Khand debated on Tuesday and 24 are still remaining. The hearing of Balkrishna Khand will go on today as well, followed by the debate of 16 advocates on behalf of Teknath Rijal.
