Court hearing on Gaur Massacre case starts

KATHMANDU, June 13: The court hearing on the case of the Gaur Massacre case has started. The hearing started on the single bench of Justice Bishwambhar Prashad Shrestha on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court failed to hear the writ petition in the single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi on June 5th, Justice Prakashman Singh Raut on June 8th and Justice Dr. Anandamohan Bhattarai on June 9th.

On June 4, Tribhuwan Shah filed a writ petition against Rautahat Gaur District Police Office and Rautahat Gaur District Attorney's Office. The petition was also set to be heard on the 5th of June but it got postponed.

On 21st March 2007, 28 Maoist members were killed when the Madhesi People's Rights Forum and the CPN-Maoists organized their programs in the same place at the rice mill in Gaur, Rautahat. The leaders, workers and criminal groups associated with the Forum were claimed to be involved in the massacre.
