Debate from Balkrishna Khand’s side begins in Court

KATHMANDU, June 13: The debate on behalf of Balkrishna Khand, a defendant in the fake Bhutanese refugee case has begun in Kathmandu District Court. Khand’s lawyer Pankaj Karna started the debate in the bench of Justice Prem Prasad Neupane.

It is alleged that Khand, who was also the Home Minister at the time, accepted 12.4 million cash in the name of making Nepalese into fake Bhutanese refugees.

It is alleged that Khand formed a separate committee to convince the victims without re-proposing the proposal prepared by the task force to find permanent and long-term solutions to the Bhutanese refugee problem.
