The case against Prachanda in bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla

KATHMANDU, June 13: The case against the then Maoist leadership regarding the use of children as soldiers during the People’s War has fallen in the bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla. The case was filed by a former Child soldier Lenin Bista.

The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the administration of the Supreme Court to register the writ regarding the use of children as soldiers against the then Maoist leadership including the then Chairman of the CPN-Maoist, Prachanda, and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai. A former child soldier Lenin Bista had reached the Supreme Court with a writ demanding action against the then leadership claiming that using children as soldiers during the Maoist war was against International Humanitarian law.

But after the Supreme Court dismissed the writ petition, Bista went to the Supreme Court against the dismissal.
