Octopus worth 1.2 million imported

KATHMANDU, June 10: Octopuses worth Rs.1.2 million have been imported within the 10 months of the current fiscal year 2079/80. According to the information provided by the Customs Department, the octopuses were imported from July to April.

According to the Department, 340 kg of octopuses were imported during this period. As a result, the state has collected Rs 595 thousand as revenue.

Data indicates that all the octopuses that enter Nepal come from Thailand. As the trend of seafood is increasing in Nepal, the import of different types of sea fish including octopus is increasing every year.
