Publisher's note: Ratopati completes its 10th anniversary

KATHMANDU, June 10: Ten years ago, on 10th June 2013, we established the www.ratopati.com news portal and brought it among our viewers. On the occasion of ratopati.com completing its 10th anniversary and entering its 11th year, we want to express our sincere gratitude to our readers, listeners and viewers, news sources, writers, advertisers, well-wishers and everyone who have supported ratopati in this long journey.

We established ourselves at a time when the country was having trouble forming its constitution through the first Constitution Assembly Election. After decades of struggles and sacrifices, Nepalese citizens finally achieved an inclusive, federal, republic democracy. With the publication of Discovery News Network, we brought ratopati to our viewers at a time when our citizens had an interest in establishing institutions through these achievements. There were many doubts if the institution could be established. But we remained committed to the belief that a constitution based on socialism and social justice had to be written for the change to be institutionalized.

After the Constitution was formed, we dedicated ourselves to the protection of the Constitution. We are committed to republic democracy, federalism, proportional election system, secularism, good governance and freedom of press and expression.

In today's age of cheap and fake news, viral video clips, and politics without ideas and principles, professional journalism has many struggles. With the voice of regression echoing even in the Parliament, we will keep standing tall against regression.

We are not in competition with anyone. We are competing for constitutionalism, good governance and social justice. These are our interests and conditions. We are the voice of the rights of the people committed to protecting national independence and sovereignty. We are Ratopati.

We have adopted a zero-tolerance policy for corruption control. It is our duty to send a warning to corrupt officials, leaders and people who promote corruption. It is our resolve to become the voice of the people against injustice, deformity and inconsistency in society.

 When we started our journey, we only had determination and courage. Today, we also have a decade of experience. But more importantly, we have immense love and support from millions of readers and viewers every day. We are joyous because of the continuous support and cooperation from our well-wishers.

We deliver information to the citizens through texts, audio and video in both Nepali and English languages. We have created provincial editions to cover the news, opinions and voices of the people of all seven provinces of our country. A global version is also arranged for Nepalese who have migrated.
