Westerly wind brings rain in most parts of country today

Kathmandu, Rainfall occurred in most parts of the country today due to the influence of the Westerly wind. 
All parts of the higher mountainous region have received snowfall die to the influence of the Westerly wind, meteorologist Shanti Kandel said. According to her, the Westerly wind that entered Nepal from the western part from Tuesday night has spread its influence even to the eastern parts as of this morning. 
She said its influence would diminish by the evening and the weather is expected to improve from Thursday. 
The Kathmandu Valley will experience an increase in cold today as the maximum temperature here will dip during the day, although the minimum temperature is recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius. 
The latest weather data given by the Weather Forecasting Division shows that all places except Birendranagar received rainfall. Kathmandu received two millimetres rain while Dadeldhura got the highest 12 millimetres of rainfall. 
Snowfall makes life of earthquake survivors hard in Gorkha 
Meanwhile, life has become difficult in settlements in the northern belt of Gorkha district following snowfall since last night. Heavy snowfall has taken place in Chumanubri and Dharche. 
Similarly, the earthquake survivors in Laprak have been hit hard due to the snowfall as they are living in makeshift shelters. 
Bhabiraj Gurung, Head teacher at the Manikamdevi Secondary School, Laprak, said that it started snowing in the area since 4 am today. This is the first snowfall this year. According to him, the earthquake affected families living in makeshift shelters are worried over the increasing cold but at the same time are also happy that this will be good for their crops. 
The quake survivors of Gupsipakha area are now living in temporary shelters in the forest at Rinajulung after the Non-Resident Nepalis Association started constructing homes for them there. The earthquake affected people of Laprak are living at their own houses in the village after the reconstruction. 
In Rasuwa, many places of the district have received rainfall and areas in the higher reaches snowfall since the morning today. It has been snowing at Gosainkunda, Langtang, Nakthali and other areas. Farmers are happy that the rain and snowfall will improve their crops although increasing the cold. 
Similarly, in Humla, snowfall in this remote mountainous district of far-west of the country has affected the daily life of the people. 
Flights have been disrupted at the Simikot airport as it is covered with snow.
