Courtesy meeting between President Timilsina and Executive Secretary of CTBTO

KATHMANDU, June 6: A courtesy meeting was held between the Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Robert Floyd. The courtesy meeting was held at the Parliament Secretariat in Singha Darbar.

Chairman Timilsina claimed that Nepal was in favour of disarmament of all weapons of mass destruction in the meeting. Timilsina assured that the parliament will begin the ratification of the CTBTO Treaty if the government presents the treaty to the Parliament.

CTBTO’s Executive Secretary Floyd stated that many countries in West Africa and Southeast Asia have already ratified the treaty and he expects Nepal to ratify the treaty soon.
