Discussion of PM’s India Visit and Citizenship Bill in Cabinet Meeting
Kathmandu, May 30: Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to India on Wednesday was discussed in the Cabinet meeting. Minister of Information and Communications as well as a government spokesperson, Rekha Sharma, announced that the Cabinet had not made any decisions on Tuesday’s meeting.
Minister Sharma said that preparations for Prime Minister’s visit to India from tomorrow were discussed, but no decision was made. She further added that an agreement was made that the budget would be discussed after the Prime Minister returns from India.
She explained that the topic of the Citizenship Bill was mentioned briefly at Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting and stated that she expects certification from the President. “We have sent the Citizenship Bill to the President after making a decision from the Cabinet. We expect the President to certify it using his Constitutional Rights,” Minister Sharma said.
