20 files sent to Sheetal Niwas for pardon to Resham Chaudhary
KATHMANDU, May 25: 20 files have been sent to the President's office for pardoning the punishment of Resham Chaudhary, the guardian of Nagarik Unmukti Party. Chaudhary, who is serving life imprisonment due to the Tikapur incident of Kailali in Bhadra of 2072 B.S., is being prepared to have his sentence pardoned by the President on the occasion of Republic Day on the 15th of Jeshta. Baburam Kunwar, the legal advisor of President Ramchandra Paudel, told Ratopati that 20 files related to the pardoning of Chaudhary's sentence had been received by the law department of the President's office on Wednesday.
Kunwar said that the files for the pardon of Chaudhary could not appear before President Paudel on Wednesday as they were too big. Kunwar told Ratopati that he said to the Joint Secretary of Law to study if the process has been carried out or not and submit the files to the President after the process has been carried out.
He said that he was informed that there were 20 files and that the files only came in yesterday at 2:30 pm, and as there is a public holiday today, the studying of the files has not been done yet.
