Fake Bhutanese refugee case: Court extends custody by 3 days for all 16 accused

KATHMANDU, May 21: All the 16 people involved in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees will remain in custody for 3 more days after the Kathmandu District Court permitted the police to detain the 16 people for 3 more days for investigation.

After the leader of Bhutanese refugees Teknath Rijal and Nepal Hajj Committee Chair Shamsher Miya were caught on May 18, the police proceeded with further investigation by taking permission to detain them for two days. With this, the deadline for custody of all 16 people expired today and the police have taken another three days from the Court to keep the accused in custody.
