Nagarik Unmukti Party announces protest demanding Resham Chaudhary's release

KATHMANDU, May 17: The Nagarik Unmukti Party has warned that the party will announce a strike in Nepal until Resham Chaudhary is released. The party organized a press conference today and announced the protest. Announcing the program of the protest through a press conference, the party has announced that it will bring a program up to declare a strike on the whole country if the demands are not met through corner meetings and demonstrations.

The Senior Vice Chairman of Nagarik Unmukti Party, Damodar Pandit, released the report of the Lal Committee and demanded the release of those who were involved in the Tikapur incident, including Resham Chaudhary.

He said that if these demands are not met, programs up to the strike all over Nepal will be brought, and said that they will hold corner meetings and protest programs across the country until the 19th of May. If the demands are not met even after that, he warned that the strike on the whole country will be introduced from May 20th. Pandit emphasized that the government should immediately publish the report of the Lal Committee, as this is not an issue of the court but a political issue.

Although the party announced that it will protest against the decision of the Supreme Court, Chaudhary, who is in jail, issued a press release and accepted the court's decision.
