Parliamentary committees' meetings start under chairmanship of senior member

KATHMANDU, May 16: The meeting of the Public Accounts Committee has started. The meeting started a little while ago at the office of the committee at Singha Darbar.

The meeting of the parliamentary committee started today after five months after the completion of the general election. Since the chairmen of the committees have not been elected, the meeting was started under the chairmanship of the senior member. The senior member of the Public Accounts Committee, Congress MP Arjun Narasingh KC, is chairing the meeting.

Similarly, the meeting of the infrastructure development committee has also started. The meeting of the infrastructure development committee has started under the chairmanship of the senior member of the committee, MP Lalbir Chaudhary of Nagarik Unmukti Party.

Likewise,  the meeting of the Industry and Commerce, and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee, is being chaired by Ranendra Baraili, a Member of Parliament of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center). 

Other committee meetings are being held from today. There are a total of 12 committees including 2 joint and 10 thematic committees.

Similarly, in the Education and Health Committee, the senior member of the committee, Communist Party of Nepal (UML) MP Kaluram Rai is chairing the meeting, while the meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee is being held under the chairmanship of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party MP Pashupati Shamsher Jabara.
