Corruption case of more than one crore against the then Deputy Secretary of Transport Management Office

KATHMANDU, May 2: A corruption case has been filed against Sundar Bhattarai, the then Deputy Secretary of the Transport Management Office in Sukedhara, Kathmandu. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed an accusation letter against him in the special court on Tuesday with the charge of Rs. 11,529,193.71.

According to Bhola Dahal, the spokesperson of the Commission, when an investigation was conducted based on the complaint that Bhattarai had acquired property illegally, he was found to have undisclosed property amounting to Rs. 11,529,193.71, which has been made the charge amount in the accusation letter filed.

During the examination period from the date Bhattarai entered the public service, to the mid of December 2022, an income of Rs. 19,201,922.34 and an expense of Rs. 30,731,116.05 was seen when his income and expenses were analyzed as per the Commission.
