Writ against Balen Shah in Justice Mathema's Bench

KATHMANDU, April 19: The writ petition filed against Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has come before the bench of Justice Sushmalata Mathema. Although the case was referred to the solo bench of the acting Chief Justice Harikrishna Karki on Tuesday, it was not put on the hearing list.

A writ was filed in the Supreme Court against Mayor Shah for not picking up the garbage of Singha Durbar, the country's main administrative center and Sheetal Niwas, the President's office.

Advocate Padam Shrestha filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Monday, stating that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City did not collect garbage as per the law and demanded that the garbage should be collected immediately and taken to the landfill site with regular garbage collection and disposal.
