Case against Rabi Lamichhane in Judge Hari Phuyal's bench

KATHMANDU, April 5: The case against Rabi Lamichhane, the Chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party, has been scheduled for hearing in the court of Judge Hari Prasad Phuyal. As the writ filed in the bench of Judge Anil Sinha on Tuesday could not be heard, it has been assigned to the bench of Phuyal today.

Yuvaraj Paudel, also called Yuvaraj Safal, filed a writ in the Supreme Court on Monday with the demand that the case of passport misuse be initiated against Ravi Lamichhane.

The By-election is being held in the Chitwan Constituency No. 2 on the 23rd of April.

A writ was registered in the Supreme Court against Lamichhane who registered his candidacy only on Monday. In the writ petition, an interim order has also been requested to prevent Lamichhane from becoming a candidate. If the court issues an interim order in the case against Rabi, his candidature will automatically be canceled. In case the Supreme Court refuses to give an interim order, the candidate will be allowed to participate in the election.
