In Pics: Gwarko's 'flyover' work progressing on

KATHMANDU, March 15: The construction of a flyover has started at Gwarko in Lalitpur, where there are a lot of traffic jams these days. The work has been started on the road from Gwarko Chowk towards Balkumari in the first phase. 

'Ashish Samanantar Religare JV', a construction business company, has started the construction of this flyover with a contract worth Rs 17 crore. As per the contract, the company has to complete the work within 2 years of starting the work.

The contractor himself designed the flyover and proceeded with the construction work. The Ministry of Finance has ensured a budget resource of 33 crore rupees for this work. 

The total length of the 4-lane flyover will be 540 meters. Initially, work is progressing to build 280 meters towards Balkumari, while preparations have been made to build 175 meters towards Satdobato.

Vehicles plying on the main road of the ring road will pass over the overpass, while Gwarko-Mangalbazar and Gwarko Lubhu-Lamatar roads will pass through the underpass.
