Eight-party task force meeting going on
KATHMANDU, March 7: The meeting of the eight-party alliance task force commenced at Singha Darbar at 2 pm today.
The presidential election is being discussed in the task force led by Congress Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka.
The Maoist General Secretary Dev Gurung, Unified Socialist General Secretary Beduram Bhusal, Rajendra Shrestha from the Janata Samajwadi Party, Abdul Khan from the Janamat Party, Sharatsingh Bhandari from Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Ranjita Shrestha from Nagarik Unmukti Party and Chitra Bahadur KC from Rashtriya Jana Morcha are in the task force.
In the presidential election to be held on March 9, senior Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel is a candidate from the eight-party alliance, while CPN-UML has put forward Vice President Subashchandra Nemwang as a candidate.
