Valley under strict traffic surveillance (with pictures)

KATHMANDU, March 6: The police have tightened traffic checking in Kathmandu Valley today since morning on the day of the Holi festival.  The police have placed checkpoints centered on Holi at 66 places.

Mira Chaudhary, DIG of the Valley Traffic Police Office, told Ratopati that checkpoints had been set up at 66 places to bring those who violate traffic rules to justice. DIG Chaudhary said that those driving motorcycles or four-wheelers under the influence of alcohol would be impounded. 

The traffic police have also mobilized a 'mobile team' to check those driving under the influence of drugs.
