Public transport workers agree to resume public transport service in Kathmandu Valley
KATHMANDU, Feb. 14: The public transport workers have agreed to resume public transportation services in Kathmandu Valley.
Public transport workers had announced a halt to all kinds of services in Kathmandu Valley.
In a meeting held between the government and the protesters, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation vowed to address the demands of workers.
With the workers' decision to call off the protest, public vehicles will now soon begin plying the roads.
Bhim Jwala, president of the All Nepal Independent Workers' Organization, said that along with the adjournment of public transport in the valley today, the country-wide movement called for tomorrow has also been withdrawn. Earlier, the labour organizations had announced a program of protest till the 11th Falgun with 10-point demands.
