Discussion on NA Vice Chairperson election at opposition party meeting
KATHMANDU, Feb. 4: The election of the Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly was discussed in the meeting of the opposition parties in the Federal Parliament.
After the meeting held at the office of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party at Singha Darbar on Saturday, Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak informed that the first phase of the National Assembly election was discussed in today's meeting.
"In today's meeting, there was a short discussion about what to do about the candidacy," said Lekhak, and added, "We will hold a meeting tomorrow and decide on this." Today's meeting was attended by the Congress, CPN Unified Socialists, and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
After the meeting, the Chairman of CPN United Socialists, Madhav Kumar Nepal, said that listening and understanding what everyone said about the Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly was done today. "No political party has claimed who will be nominated. The decision will be made according to the situation. We have no claim on the position of the Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly, however," said Chairman Nepal.
