Govt to fine vehicles failing pollution test up to Rs 100,000 from today

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Environment Department under the Ministry of Environment and Forest has decided to fine vehicles failing the pollution test up to Rs 100,000 from Friday.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, the department maintained the burning of garbage in open spaces and emission of smokes by vehicles are the main sources of air pollution and urged not to operate vehicles that fail pollution tests.
