Heavy security mobilized at Supreme Court to bar CJ Rana

Kathmandu, Dec 9: Heavy security personnel have been mobilized at the apex court’s premises to bar suspended chief justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana from entering.

After receiving a letter from the Parliament Secretariat maintaining that the impeachment leveled against Rana is ‘void’, Rana has been preparing to join the apex court.

Following the development, the Nepal  Bar Association staged a protest and a writ petition has been filed at the apex court regarding the Secretariat’s letter. 

The hearing of the petition is scheduled for Friday.

Security personnel are witnessed strictly checking the identity of those entering the court.
