COVID-19: XBB subvariant of Omicron confirmed in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: XBB subvariant of Omicron has been confirmed in Nepal as well.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the government had collected samples from people of different age groups from August 6 to October 30 and the XBB subvariant of Omicron has been confirmed after conducting genome sequencing.

This new variant has been identified as highly infectious.
