Tukucha River: Seven large buildings to be demolished in first phase

KATHMANDU, Sept 18: In the bid to recover the vanished Ichhumati Tukucha River, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City is demolishing seven large buildings at Jai Nepal Hall area and Hattisar area in the first phase.

The river that had vanished long ago due to urbanization and land encroachment by the public was found 15 feet under the land at Jai Nepal Hall area.

The buildings to be demolished are Jai Nepal Hall and two other buildings nearby, Kathmandu Plaza, building where the City Express lies and another nine storey building.
