One arrested from Shantinagar on suspicion of staging protest against Chinese leader Li
KATHMANDU, Sep 13: The police have arrested one person from Shantinagar on suspicion of staging a protest against Li Zhanshu, the current Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the Chinese Speaker.
The arrestee has been identified as Binay Yadav from Bara district.
Yadav is chairman of National Unity Campaign and had earlier issued a press statement maintaining that a protest will be staged if Li doesn’t hold meetings in a transparent manner. Following his warning, the police arrested him and is currently in police custody.
Li is currently in Nepal holding high level meetings on his three day visit. Li arrived in Nepal on Monday evening.
