KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Rishi Panchami is being celebrated by Hindu community on Thursday.
The day is marked on Bhadrapada Shukla Panchami, as per the lunar calendar.
The festival is dedicated to honor the sages and is primarily dedicated to the seven great sagas known as Saptarishi.
Today, people take bath in holy water, offer panchamrit to Saptarishi statues, offer flowers, incense sticks, oil lamps, bhog to the saptarishis and listen to folklore stories.
