Complaint filed against name of Rabi Lamichhane-led political party

KATHMANDU, June 22: A complaint has been filed at the Election Commission against the name of Rabi Lamichhane-led political party.

Journalist Lamichhane on Tuesday announced the formation of a new political party named ‘ Rashtriya Swatantra Party’.

Those filing the complaint have demanded the removal of the word ‘Swatantra’ from the name of the party.

A group has handed over the complaint to Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya, according to spokesperson of the poll body Shaligram Sharma Poudel. “The poll body will conduct an investigation and take a decision,” he added.
