Alarming: Nepal records 10,258 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The Health Ministry on Tuesday recorded 10,258 new cases of COVID-19 across the country.
According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of 22,828 tests conducted on Tuesday, 8,730 polymerase chain reaction tests (PCR) and 1,528 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the disease.
With this, the number of active cases of COVID-19 has spiked to 39,044 as of Tuesday afternoon.
Likewise, one COVID-19 infected person has died and 562 others have recovered on the same day. With this, the number of people dying due to COVID-19 in Nepal has reached 11,624.
