Nepal records 968 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday
The Health Ministry also confirmed 24 new cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 today.
KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Nepal on Friday detected 968 new cases of the novel coronavirus diseases (COVID-19).
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of 14,971 tests conducted, 572 cases turned out to be positive through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and 396 through antigen tests.
Similarly, 262 people who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 recovered from the diseases on Friday.
The COVID-19 recovery rate of Nepal stands at 97.9 percent. There are currently 5,741 active cases of COVID-19 across the country.
The Health Ministry also confirmed 24 new cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 on Friday.
